Classes

On Wednesday November 1st we will be holding a short class from 10-11am at Michelle Kynaston's home demonstrating how to pressure can chicken.

This class is meant to correlate with the delivery of chicken the day before (October 16th) from Zaycon foods for those who have ordered chicken or plan to, and want to know how else to preserve chicken aside from freezing.
(No need to order to attend the class of course!)

Canned chicken is a great food storage item because it has a shelf-life of about 3 years (versus 6-12 months in a freezer), it is pre-cooked (so it's ready to eat), and it sits on your shelf rather than taking up freezer space. It tastes much like slow cooker chicken or the canned chicken you can buy at grocery stores, but better cause you did it yourself. :)

You can still order bulk chicken with Zayconfoods.com before October 9th if you're interested. Here is the information courtesy of Miriam Thompson:
This is a product that comes around every now & then, you order online at Zayconfoods.com then pick up your order at the designated place on the day posted. (Tuesday morning, October 16th at the Central Assembly Church at 12000 W. Fairview Ave.)
You need to register on their website, then select Boise & you will see the product they are selling now (chicken). I have ordered from them before, the chicken is delicious & HUGE, 1 chicken breast is easily equivalent to 2 that you buy at the store. They sell in boxes of 40 /lbs so you may want to go in with someone on the purchase. Product amount is only available until all sold out (and they do sell out) so order quick if you are interested.

We'll send a reminder as we get closer, and yes, there will be taste testing!
