Does this sound like you? If so, and if not, welcome aboard!
Our goal in our callings and with this blog is to help you in your desires to be provident.
Cherie and I are organizing our efforts by the counsel we have all been given on LDS.org (see "Counsel" tab above) into these 5 categories below. Each month we will work on a part of all 5 areas.
- 3-month short-term supply of food
- 2-week supply of water for each family member
- Family plan for storing a longer-term supply of food, 1 yr. per family member
- Short Term Family Emergency Plan: Write a plan that addresses personal, short-term emergencies, including: what to do and how you will prepare for the 3 most common emergency situations in Idaho: house fire, house flood, and earthquakes.
- Long Term Family Emergency Plan: Write a plan for your family that addresses widespread, longer-term emergencies, including: methods for purifying water, cooking without gas or electricity, storing emergency fuel, lighting, 72-hour kits, etc.
We are here to help motivate you, answer your questions and provide solutions to your preparedness woes. Most of all, we are trying to break this down so that you don't feel overwhelmed. We want this to be doable and something you WANT to do! Let us know how we can help!!
Detailed information on each month's category will come in updated blog posts throughout the month (on the Home tab) so check back often. We will also post a link to them on the Facebook page as they come out.
To search through these posts by their topic, look for it in the left column under "Tags". If there is anything you would like to contribute, ask, need information about, etc. please call us or email!
We are excited to get started and hope you are too!
Thanks,
Michelle & Cherie
